From noon to 2am, an event every 45 minutes. Nineteen a day, and none of them needs a GM to open it.
Team Vs Team, Capture the Flag, Deathmatch, Last Hero, Domination and Treasure Hunt.
Chests appear around the arena, whoever gets there first opens them, and whoever opened the most wins. An opened chest disappears and another spawns somewhere else, so the arena is never empty. And everybody is invulnerable from start to finish: this is the event for somebody who got home tired and does not want a fight. If you could kill inside it, it would be one more Deathmatch with chests in the middle, and there are already three of those. Two edges: a tie at the top produces no winner, and opening no chest does not win by lack of competition.
Two teams, three control points. Every five seconds, each point your team holds is worth one point on the scoreboard. Killing does not score here: it is how you get the enemy off the point. And the rule that changes how it is played is this one: a contested point does not change hands. If both teams have people nearby, it stays with whoever already had it. Taking a point means clearing it, not touching it.
Winning pays 10 Event Medals and taking part pays 3. That is deliberate: an event that only pays the winner teaches whoever lost not to register again, and in two weeks the same group is left playing against itself. The ceiling is 60 medals a day.
With fewer than that the event is cancelled and the server says so. Better not to open than to open a 2v2 nobody wanted to play.
At the same merchant as the Hunt Seal, in Giran. One NPC, two currencies, instead of scattering shops around the city:
The cycle is 7 days long, and the new heroes are announced every Monday at 00h. Retail runs a monthly cycle, so here there are 52 shots at hero per year instead of 12, and missing one costs you a week rather than a month. You need 10 matches in the cycle to run for the crown.
And idle means idle: attacking, casting or moving restarts the count, and you still get a warning halfway through. It is not a timer on how long you have been in the event, so somebody who is playing is never thrown out, nor is somebody holding the arena without dying.
Three a week, at a fixed hour, and everybody enters with no buffs at all. It is the place where the fight is only the fight.
All times on Brasilia time:
The bracket strips everyone at the door. It is not a footnote in a ruleset: it is what makes the tournament measure your hand instead of measuring who had a Bishop free at the time. Somebody who turned up alone and somebody who turned up with a whole clan enter the same.
A knockout bracket, not points accumulated over a season. One bad fight takes you out, and that is why a tournament fits into an afternoon instead of becoming a second job.
The Cup champion is paid in Rubies. The design talks about an exclusive cloak for the champion and it does not exist yet, because it needs a change to the client. It will be announced when it does. Until then it is not promised.
All on Brasilia time, and this is the shape from week 8 on, once the content is all open.
What happens regardless of the day:
And what belongs to each day:
